![]() ![]() Well, that's if you count a one-paragraph description of their characters as a personality. Once you've absorbed all this information, it's time to equip yourself with hardware and select your team from a collection of soldiers, each with their own abilities and personality. With just 72 hours before the insurgents launch a few dozen megatons into the Land of the Free, you and your fellow special-ops warriors must track down and incapacitate all American-hating Mexicans by any means at your disposal.Īrmed with futuristic weaponry (after all, this is 2014), including floating scout drones and the Cross-Com 2.0 - a system enabling you to see what your team-mates see - you have the ability to scythe through groups of enemies like a blowtorch through soiled toilet paper.Įach mission kicks off with an in-depth briefing during which (somewhat bizarrely) you're treated to real-life video footage of the war zone and animated snippets from a blustery general who tells you what's on the menu for the forthcoming operation. Of course, if there's one thing worse than an uprising, it's an uprising involving the possession of nuclear weapons. Reprising your role as team leader Captain Scott Mitchell - an overconfident stereotype with a Marlboro rasp - you, along with your team of soldiers, must prevent a Mexican uprising from spilling over into the US of A. And in a way, you have.īut more on this in a moment. But as you and your team of three specialforces Ghosts slink from shadow to shadow dispatching enemies with pinpoint headshots, it's impossible not be haunted by a niggling sense that you've been here before. It's perfectly playable, highly enjoyable and, on the whole, well designed. Take this tense and generally adept team-based tactical shooter. It's just that to call them fully fledged sequels can be tad misleading. They're often just as much fun as their predecessors sometimes even more so. Of course, there's nothing intrinsically wrong with follow-ups. Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 is most definitely the latter, a game that bears more resemblance to an overinflated add-on (though admittedly a highly adept one) than a fully fledged sequel. There Are Sequels and then there are follow-ups. If you're going to play this title don't settle for the campaign, go for the online. There are some issues here and there, especially with the narrative of the story, but the Online mode compensates most of these. ReviewĪ more polished, more cinematographic and overall better experience than its predecessor, GRAW 2 delivers. They polished most of the issues present in its predecessor while adding new amazing modes, maps and more. In this kind of game, the online aspect is incredibly important, and GRAW 2 developers knew this. But still, in both of these games, the campaign mode is pretty much secondary. Playing the GRAW 2 campaign is more about keeping it tactical. This is the main difference between the campaign mode of those two games, whereas in COD you'll be on a more direct battlefield, with cool action scenes and explosions everywhere. ![]() We must remember that even though it launched the same year as Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 4, it is a much more tactical game. ![]() of your squad has also been improved which is pretty important in a game like this. This is nice since it makes the game feel much better than the past one. There are new mechanics, but they mostly went ahead and improved the ones already present in the past game. The interactions and characters are also improved. ![]() The best part about the narrative is the cinematographic elements and the clear inspiration in war movies. But the good thing about it is that, even though it's not surprising or new, it is good enough to keep us engaged. The plot sounds pretty interesting, and while it is, it is wasted by not-so-good narration. And you'll have to do all of this without letting it be public that there's a Ghost Squad, U.S. Once there you must protect it from the insurgents that attempt to break the negotiations of security between the U.S. We play as Captain Scott Mitchell, and along with the Ghost squad, we are tasked to infiltrate the location. Now we are called into Juárez, México, right after the civil war with the government and the rebel forces detonates. The events of GRAW 2 takes place a short time after what happened in its predecessor. ![]()

![]() ![]() Blood Stone, an explosive third-person action/adventure game from critically acclaimed developer Bizarre Creations, features Daniel Craig, Judi Dench and Joss Stone in an original story from the writer of GoldenEye and Tomorrow Never Dies. However, if you are looking for a game to perhaps play between longer AAA titles and you are just looking to have some fun for a few hours then Blood Stone is a game I would certainly recommend. The game is not long, and it does have its limitations. Let GoldenEye do the multiplayer experience, Blood Stone is strongest in the single-player experience. I would much rather that developers spent the time enhancing and extending the single-player experience. Like many modern games, publishers and developers seem to believe that a multiplayer option is a desirable section to the majority of gamers. They felt exciting and probably the best realised driving sections in any James Bond game, including 007 Racing! The multiplayer is the game's weakest offering. The speed of these sections was also good. You will drive a car and a boat at different points in the story and the handling felt good. The driving sections of the game were excellent. Bond visits some very interesting locations around the world in this mission. But it's enough to keep you playing until the end. ![]() Of course, don't expect a story as complex as those in recent movies. The usual explosive barrels make their 974th appearance in a videogame since Doom! The story interested me. You can make use of scenery to help dispatch enemies for example, shooting a lift so that it falls and kills the occupants. The game is fairly easy to complete anyway so these are not massively useful, but do help to make you feel like James Bond in that you can wade through enemies quickly as he might do in the movies. However, Bond can action some awesome takedowns (which reminded me closely of The Bourne Conspiracy) and these give you "Focus Aims" which allow you to dispatch enemies quickly with a single headshot. The 3rd-person shooting is fairly formulaic. The title sequence closely emulates the new design direction of the Daniel Craig era and is a very good standard for a videogame. Joss Stone is a welcome addition to the Bond universe being both sexy and talented. Daniel Craig and Dame Judi Dench really elevate the game with their voiceover work. This is helped by the game design I like it when 007 games look to emulate the feel of the movies by incorporating items such as a credits sequence, a theme song, Bond "moments" and real actors to do the voiceover. Blood Stone certainly does not hit the heights of GoldenEye, but it does have a very atmospheric James Bond experience. 007 games tend to vary from the excellent (GoldenEye) to the awful (007 Legends). 007 games tend to vary from the excellent (GoldenEye) to the awful (007 I feel that Blood Stone is a very underrated James Bond game. The story-line is strong, reminded me of old films, yet could have been expanded on for longer game play. The campaign for an experienced gamer may seem short, but for me who is someone who has a family and career I enjoyed an entire week of Bond. I am a huge fan of the fact that this game is a third person shooter, I have been turned off of the recent Bond games because it reminds me of playing "Call of Duty" or some type of war scenario game. The pace picks up again in the pre-chorus at the one-minute mark, with the chords changing every two beats: Abmin7 – Bbmin7 – Bmin7 – Dbmin7 – Bmin7 – E7 – Gbmaj7 It’s a nice contrast from the speedy chord changes in the intro, providing space so you can focus more on the lyrics: "Tell me what kind of man would treat his woman so cold…" Things slow down a bit in the verses, alternating only between two chords, Ebmin7 and Abmin7, with an occasional Bb7 thrown in for good measure. "All the Things" starts off with Joe talking smoothly over an intro made up of six quick-changing chords, with the last two repeating before the first verse: Bmaj7 – Ebmin7 – Dbmin7 – Bb7 – Ebmin7 – Abmin7 The other most common type of seventh chord is a dominant seventh, written with just the chord letter and the number "7." These chords consist of a major chord triad (root, major third, and fifth) with a flatted seventh – in this case, Bb dominant seven (Bb7): Bb (root) – D (major third) – F (fifth) – Ab (flatted 7th) Let’s look at an example of B major seven (Bmaj7), the first chord of Joe's song: B (root) – D# (major third) – F# (fifth) – A# (major 7th) This song is in the key of Eb minor, so here's an example using a Ebmin7 chord: Eb (root) – Gb (minor third) – Bb (fifth) – Db (minor 7th)Ī major seventh chord is similar to the minor seventh, with the exception of the third and seventh intervals being major instead of minor. Give Joe's track a listen, and then we'll break down the basic theory. We'll keep it simple here and just focus on what the actual notes are in each chord, regardless of instrument. Keep in mind that a chord's voicing – the order in which you play the same group of notes in a chord, or how high or low you play them – will vary depending on whether you're playing the keyboard or acoustic guitar part in the song. Minor seventh chords contain four notes: the root, minor third, fifth and minor seventh intervals. Almost all of the chords are minor seventh chords, a staple in jazz and R&B music.
